A Psalm for Our Day

Holy One, how many are working 

for evil in the world!

They call us “radical” and “lunatic.”

They mock our care for the earth, 

our concern for the vulnerable.

But you, Holy One, Creator of the Universe,

You are the protector of the immigrant, 

of the poor, of all who are at risk.

We call out to you and you answer us:

“Take the actions that I require of you!”

We will not fear, even though ICE rampages out of control,

troops fill our streets,

and witnesses for justice are arrested.

Holy One, deliver us!

Let your Truth break through the noise, chaos, and division. 

Strike the heart of the enemy with transforming Love.

You, O God of All, are the one who can deliver us.

Send your blessing and protection on all the people.
