Thank you, Cabin …
your smells and sounds and memories
Comforting me.
Letting me sink deep in the love
of the Saints who still inhabit this place.
Thank you, river,
the fierce and persistent way that you
Flow down the mountains,
the way you nurture ecosystems.
Thank you, hummingbirds.
And flycatchers and wrens.
And violet green tree swallows.
We have lived here together
through so many generations.
Thank you, Spring plants.
Blooming chokecherries and roses.
Wallflowers and alpine geraniums.
And, of course, my special friends,
The shooting stars.
Thank you, rainbow,
you give a gentle kiss goodbye
and remind me that no matter where I am
I am connected to this place
and I am home.
