Pilgrimage Painting

I'm back from my Iona pilgrimage and still carrying the beautiful island with me. One of my favorite memories is painting what I saw.
Out the window of my airplane from Dublin to Glasgow. I loved seeing the propeller against the sky and the water below.

Coffee cup in my hotel in Glasgow. I was up early and had time for a little creativity.

The view from my window at the Saint Columba Hotel on Iona. The hills on the far side of the water are on the Isle of Mull.

Sitting on a rock at North End Beach (Tràigh Bhàn) and painting. I had to finish the piece in a hurry when I realized the tide was coming in.

Painting in the ruins of the Iona Nunnery. (It was founded in the 1200s and abandoned in the mid 1500s when King Henry VIII separated the Church of England from Papal authority.)

I took tons of pictures and hope to do more painting soon.
